Howard Pawley was the former premier of Manitoba and had taken a position at the University of Windsor as a political science professor. He quickly became a favorite professor, owing to not only his labor roots but his public professed love for Windsor and his willingness to teach a large number of undergraduate courses. Given his stature, he could easily have gotten away with teaching only a handful of graduate courses. However, he happily wallowed in the mire of undergrad blurbage.
